Finding The Right Shoe
What type of shoe should you be looking for? This depends on the location in which you are getting married. If you choose Location A, for example you may want to stay with a rubber soled flats, this location has gravel, uproots and downward slope. Then if you choose Location D, you have more options because this location is a short and level walk. Please refer to the site link you choose for more information on recommended footwear.
If the walk is longer, choose comfortable shoes or hiking boots. If the location is at an overlook and your ceremony is at high noon in August, refrain from going barefoot…the sandstone has a tendency to heat up in the midday hours. Keep in mind, for the longer hikes or walks on the dirt or paved paths, it’s perfectly fine to wear hiking shoes or sneakers on the hike/walk to the ceremony site and then change over to your wedding shoes once we reach the ceremony site. (remember, you or someone must carry those shoes on the trail)
Biggest “problem shoe”? Flip-flops…especially those heeled “wedge” flip-flops. Have had so many of those break before they makes it to the ceremony site.
Here are some sites that I love:
Earthies Shoes (for total comfort)
Design Your Own Chucks! (of course!!) Converse allows you to design your own shoe…right down to the name you wanted printed on it!
Mouse Shoes by Marc Jacobs are my wedding day choice. This link is for the black ones, but they come in many colors.
