What To Bring With You To Your Tiny Wedding Ceremony:
Your Marriage License – The officiant will complete the form and we will mail it back. My Tiny Wedding is not able to perform a marriage ceremony without the legal Marriage License from the state of Kentucky.
A Letter Sized Envelope – Addressed neatly to the clerks office from which it came. The Clerks Office should provide you with an envelope already addressed. If they do not, ask them…they usually will get one from behind the counter. If the envelope is not addressed, we are not responsible for the license going to the wrong office, delaying the filing time. We have found that oftentimes, the mailing addresses on the internet for these clerk’s offices are incorrect…it’s usually best to have them provide you with the correct address (you’ll need to ask as the licenses do not have the addresses printed on them…that would make waaaay too much sense!).
Two Witnesses over the age of 18 – If you have purchased a package for ZERO guest, we are providing the witnesses…no further arrangements are needed. Check your contract, if you have purchased a package that is not for ZERO guest, you will need to inform us at least 2 weeks ahead of time. We can arrange for a witness to be at your ceremony for $25. A witness can be a friend or family member who is 18 years of age or older. If you only have one witness attending with you, the photographer can act as the other.
A Slip Of Paper – With the full names, spelled correctly of your two witnesses. If we are providing the witnesses, don’t worry about this.
Your Wedding Bands – If you are exchanging rings.
Your Vows – If you are writing your own (if not, no worries…we will have a set in the ceremony for you).
Final Payment – Will be collected 30days before ceremony or cash day of.
Where to get your license:
You can get your license in any county in the state of Kentucky. There is no waiting period and is good for 30 days. But we suggest that you get it no sooner than two weeks before your ceremony as sometimes it takes us a few days to get it back to the courthouse.
