VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING DIRECTIONS

MY TINY WEDDING WILL START THE CEREMONY ON TIME…WITH OR WITHOUT THE WEDDING GUEST.

•The Red River Gorge is located about an hour southeast of Lexington, Kentucky.

•To get a general idea of where we are, you can Google “Slade, Kentucky”.  That will give you a general idea…but remember, the Red River Gorge is a large area and the ceremony sites are more in the center part of it while the towns are located around the edges of it.

•You will need the detailed directions that My Tiny Wedding will provide for you for the location of the actual ceremony site.  They should be listed on the link the wedding couple have sent you along with the meet up time.  Start looking for that about a week before the ceremony.

•Simply googling “Red River Gorge”, “Slade Kentucky”, “Pine Ridge Kentucky” will not take you to the actual ceremony site…it will, however, take you the outer edges of the gorge…where the lodging is.

•Googling “My Tiny Wedding” will not get you to any of our ceremony sites… there are many sites that we use at My Tiny Wedding Please use the link that the couple has provided to you to get your directions.

•Typing in the name of the ceremony location will give you a 10% chance of actually getting there.  For instance, typing in “Chimney Top Rock” will take you to the rock, for sure…but the bottom of the rock…about 45 minutes driving distance from the top of the rock (where we will be performing the ceremony).  Please follow the directions on the link we have provided for you.

There are two exits for the area:

Exit 33 – use this exit if you are staying in a cabin or renting a room.

Exit 40 – use this exit if you are going directly to the Ceremony Location from out of town.   Get to Exit 40 and then follow the directions that we will provide for you.  The only exceptions to this rule would be the Gladie Cabin Ceremony sites.

Even if you are planning on carpooling, it’s important to have a set of printed directions in your car and a passenger who is keeping track of the miles,  (four miles on our curvy roads feels like 15 miles).  It’s very easy for cars to get separated from each other (many cars are pulling out from pulloffs so if you have any distance between you and the car in front of you, there is a risk of a veeerrrryyyy sssslllloooowww driver pulling out in front of you).  MOST OF THE DRIVE WILL NOT HAVE PHONE OR INTERNET SERVICE.  PLEASE PRINT OUT A COPY OF THE DIRECTIONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR YOUR TRIP.  You will not be able to pull up the directions online while driving through the gorge.  Some folks have attempted to bookmark them…this did not work for them.  So far, the printed copy has been the most reliable way to go about this.

MY TINY WEDDING WILL START THE CEREMONY ON TIME…WITH OR WITHOUT THE WEDDING GUEST.

If this is a midday wedding, chances are we have a ceremony shortly following yours and we cannot be late for that one.  If this is a sunset ceremony…well…the sun simply will not wait for your arrival before it starts to set.
