Most common questions we get:
What if it rains? Check out this link.
Where are we meeting you? For, LuckyDuck, Whippoorwill, Gorgeous Day and Adventure Packages, you are meeting us at your ceremony site parking lot.
For the Deluxe Packages and Have Love Will Travel we will decide on the meeting spot depending on our schedule for the day. This will be decided and spoken very clearly in the firming up the details email that will be sent to you a week or so before your ceremony.
How will we know how to get to our meeting spot? You will be giving precise and detailed directions in the firming up the details email that will be sent to you a week or so before your wedding. You can request them sooner so you can print them with your invitations or go visit the ceremony site…we’ll be happy to send them to you.
Do you have a bathroom where I can change since we are not spending the night in the gorge? There is a very nice rest stop on exit 33 where you can change and stretch your legs, I do have a popup tent that maybe available depending on if there is another wedding. Please email or call if you would like to use.
Do we need to tip? This is entirely up to you but they are always greatly appreciated!
What are your favorite sites? I have different ones for different reasons. I LOVE location J because it really shows the grand size of the sandstone rock formation. I like location F because of the amazing light in the late afternoon and early evening. Location I for it’s beautiful hike and lack of people.
What time of day should I have my ceremony? I’m gonna suggest 1 to 2 hour before sunset. Earlier in the day means more people milling about and splotchy lighting.
How will the bridesmaids and groomsmen walk down the aisle? Before your ceremony day, decide on a few things. Do you want the bridesmaids and groomsmen to walk down the aisle together or have the groomsmen to stand at the altar with the groom? Either way is fine with us. Instruct them to start walking when they hear music and to walk about 25 feet apart to give space for the photographer to take photos of them. Pretty simple!
How to we receive the photos? After your wedding, you’ll receive an online gallery link to your wedding day photos. You will also receive a coupon code for the number of photos that came in your package. After submitting your coupon code, you’ll be able to download those images and any additional images you might want.
Do Children count as guest? Yes. Every person coming to the wedding counts as a guest and should be included in your guest count. In many cases, children actually take up more room than an adult at the ceremony site once you include their stroller and diaper bag.
We ordered a cake ala carte from you. Where will we eat it? Most couples usually take the cake back to their cabins to enjoy. If you do not have a cabin there are picnic areas close to all of our Locations with the exception of Locations N and O. We’ll be able to direct you to the picnic areas after the ceremony. If you want to do a picnic before the ceremony, email me and I can give you directions.
Can we bring our dog? Yes, dogs are always welcome but must be on a leash at all times and we require that you have water and poop bags.
Will you mail out the license? Yes, you will need to provide flat envelope that is at least 8.5X11 with the address of the County Clerk on the front. We will mail it out within two business days. You are more than welcome to take it back yourself, just let us know:)
Other important things to know:
Please be prompt. The package you have purchased has a time limit on it. The time starts at our agreed upon time and it’s over when the allotted time stated on the contract is over. My Tiny Wedding often times will have more than once appointment in a day and will need to stay on schedule to ensure that weddings after your ceremony start on time.
Because we are in a delicate area, releasing things such as rice, bird seed, balloons or flower petals can greatly disrupt the environment. It is prohibited by the Daniel Boone National Forest to release any of these items. We at My Tiny Wedding practice a “leave no trace” approach. This means pack out what you take in. That includes cigarette butts, drink bottles or any other items. Please help us out by informing your guest of this beforehand. Among other natural hazards such as cliffs, steep drops, rocks; this area does have poisonous snakes that are often found on or near the trail. Please watch your step and children carefully.
Due to our special permit with the National Forest, we must abide by the size limitations they require us to keep. If these group sizes are exceeded, My Tiny Wedding and/or You will be fined. Help us out by giving us an accurate wedding guest count so we can find a suitable spot. Please note: if the group size is larger than the count on the contract, My Tiny Wedding does reserve the right to refuse to perform the ceremony.
