Things to know before you arrive.
• Clay City Exit 16 and 18 will be your first exits off of I-64 Exit 98 on the Bert T Combs Mountain Parkway heading East. Stanton Exit 22 will be your third exit prior to the Slade KY Exit 33. The Clay City and Stanton exits will have the convenience of fuel, fast food, grocery and liquor stores. You may want to stop for items you may need at one of these three exits, as the next exit will be the Slade Exit 33.
The Clay City Exit 16 has several fuel stations, Jimmy’s Tire center, Superior IGA, DG Market, Red River Spirits, Legacy Liquor, My Little Finca Mexican Restaurant and Fast Food restaurants and a branch bank.
The Stanton Exit 22 has several fuel stations, banks and fast food establishments to choose from. Legacy Liquor, Kroger, Save-A-Lot, AT&T store, Parts City Auto, Advance Auto, Walgreens, Gift Shops: Sticks, Stones & Stitches, Clementines, Blessings Floral and Gifts. Clothing Shops: Just Plain Fancy and Tropical Tans. If you are in need of building materials, ACE Hardware and Rogers Hardware are on this exit as well. All are conveniently located off the exit 22.
The Slade Exit 33 offers several fuel stations and restaurants Red River Rockhouse, Miguels Pizza, Hops Fork, Red Point BBQ, Hemlock Lodge, Thatcher Barbecue Company and La Cabana Mexican that serves beer and some spirts. Daniel Boone Trading Post, Marathon and Shell Gas Station all sell a small selection of fruits and veggies
• Refuel your vehicle before you head out into the Gorge if you are less than a 1/4 tank.
